Redeploying Staff from Business & Industry Cafés to Feeding the Needy

Ridgefield, CT - More than 50 Sodexo employees who work in the café, catering & kitchen staff at Boehringer Ingelheim have redirected their energies to serving neighbors in need. In partnership with Food Rescue US, they are preparing 250 meals daily for the City of Danbury Emergency Shelter and Housing Authority, Hillside Food Outreach and other social service agencies throughout the County.

A Helping Hand to Employees Who Need Support

San Antonio, TX - In partnership with Sodexo, USAA is offering all 35,000 employees curbside pick-up of meals (at half price) & grocery food items (at cost) across its campuses - a program launched by Sodexo with just four days of planning. “We are committed to supporting USAA employees and their families during this difficult period,” said Mark Spinelli, VP, operations for Sodexo Dining at USAA.

When We Can't Fly, We Still Serve

Philadelphia, PA - When domestic and global travel ground to a halt in March, Sodexo teams knew they had to do something with the surplus food in its airline lounges. In Philadelphia, Delta partnered with SodexoMAGIC to donate over 500 pounds of food from the Delta Sky Club at the airport to a local Feeding America food bank.

Pivoting From Feeding Business & Industry Employees, to Serving the Needy

Washington, DC - A number of Sodexo's Business & Industry Services accounts under temporary closure in the DC area connected with Food Rescue to donate a large amount of surplus food from their locations. In the end, over 10,000 lb were donated by the following sites and teams: Boeing - 341 lbs; Fannie Mae 2716 lbs; Hilton - 850 lbs; IMF - 6000 lbs; National Geographic - 850 lbs
